MONROE, CT — Looking for Fourth of July celebrations? Several nearby communities will host Independence Day festivities during the holiday week.
Derby-Shelton's annual fireworks display is scheduled for Thursday, July 2 in Downtown Derby and Shelton. Festivities begin in the evening, with fireworks scheduled for dusk.
Weston's annual "3rd of July" celebration returns Friday, July 3, to Weston Middle School Field, 135 School Road.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the event will feature food trucks, live entertainment and fireworks at dusk.
Wilton will celebrate Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, with the town's first-ever July 4 parade, a reading of the Declaration of Independence and an evening fireworks display.
Fireworks are expected to begin at dusk at the Wilton High School Sports Complex, 395 Danbury Road.
Stratford's Independence Day fireworks celebration is scheduled for Thursday, July 2, at Short Beach, 1 Dorne Drive.
The annual display will begin at dusk and is expected to draw large crowds along the shoreline.
