Wilton July 4 Fireworks, Parade 2026: What To Know

WILTON, CT — Wilton residents will celebrate Independence Day with a full day of festivities this year, including the town's first July 4 parade, a reading of the Declaration of Independence and an evening fireworks display.

The celebration is part of America's 250th anniversary and will take place throughout town on July 4.

July 4 Parade

Wilton's first-ever Independence Day parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Participants will gather near the Stop & Shop plaza on River Road before proceeding through town along Old Ridgefield Road and Hubbard Road, ending at the Town Green.

Town officials are inviting residents, community groups and organizations to take part in the parade. Participants can march, create floats, perform music or showcase patriotic displays.

Children are also invited to participate in the Bicycle Brigade Contest by decorating bicycles, tricycles and wagons.

Town Green Celebration

Following the parade, festivities will continue at the Town Green with a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, live music and refreshments.

Officials said cupcakes and cookies will be available as the community commemorates the nation's 250th birthday.

State and local dignitaries are expected to participate in the celebration.

Fireworks Display

The day's events will conclude with family picnics and a fireworks show at the Wilton High School Sports Complex at 395 Danbury Road.

Fireworks are expected to begin at dusk.

Officials described this year's display as an "extra special" fireworks presentation in honor of the nation's semiquincentennial celebration.
