• 2 Drivers Hospitalized After Crash In Monroe: Fire Officials (patch.com) — Monroe emergency crews responded Monday evening to a two-vehicle crash on lower Monroe Turnpike that sent both drivers to the hospital. One vehicle left the road and hit a commercial sign, while firefighters handled spilled fluids, secured power to the sign, and helped manage traffic during the response.
   

• Monroe Police Reports: Broken taillight leads to DUI, Kia hits a tree (themonroesun.com) — Monroe police recently charged a Bridgeport man with DUI after a Main Street traffic stop and responded when a Kia crashed into a tree on Hattertown Road. Officers also flagged safety concerns after finding a large tree had heavily damaged a Pachaug Trail home's roof and garage, prompting involvement from the town building inspector.
