• Monroe Receives State Grant For Recreational Trail Project (patch.com) — Monroe is set to receive $288,000 in state funding to support maintenance, equipment and outreach for the Housatonic Rail Trail, part of a $10.5 million statewide trail investment. Local residents can expect improvements that enhance access, safety and recreation along the Monroe Recreational Trail Project, while also tying into broader efforts to boost outdoor tourism and healthy lifestyles across Connecticut.
• Danbury Man Accused Of Stealing More Than $1 Million From Homeowner: DCJ (patch.com) — An alleged long-running fraud scheme targeting a Monroe homeowner led to the arrest of a Danbury man accused of wrongfully obtaining more than $1.1 million, mostly for supposed home improvements. Investigators say the 988‑square‑foot house showed only minor cosmetic work despite massive invoices, and the suspect is being held on a $250,000 bond pending a court appearance.
