For the second consecutive year, Creative Music Center of Monroe has received the “Top 100 Dealer” award from the National Association of Music Merchants. The “Top 10” is awarded to a music store that demonstrates excellence in music education and sales. It is the highest honor given in the music retail store industry. Creative Music is the only music store in Connecticut to receive the award.
The music lesson, instrument rental and instrument sales store was the only store in Connecticut to receive the award.
“I am honored to have Creative Music Center recognized again by the industry,” said Creative Music Center owner, Liz Reisman. “I am grateful to all of my customers who are committed to music and music education, and I’m grateful to have a dedicated and passionate staff."

Creative Music was chosen by a group of industry experts for consistently demonstrating excellence in a number of areas, including customer service and design, as well as in its mission to support and promote all aspects of music education.

This year, Creative Music Center is celebrating its 10-year anniversary under the current owner. The business opened in 1984 under the leadership of Ellen Ballard. In 2002, Reisman purchased the business, establishing the hub of music making activity in Fairfield County.
"As a person who has reaped the benefits of playing an instrument since the 4th grade, it was incredibly important for me to keep this business going for the community,” said Reisman.
