Clinical Lab Partners Opens on Monroe Turnpike

Town Officials Welcome Business' Second Location in Town

Clinical Laboratory Partners officially opened the doors to its new location on Monroe Turnpike Wednesday. The facility is touted as offering a less painful alternative to having blood work done — both in the arm and in the wallet.

During a tour of the new building, located at 169 Monroe Turnpike in the rear of the Safe Harbour building, Account Representative Lyn Nordyk said the Connecticut-based company has 56 locations across the state.

Nordyk said unlike its competitors in the region, Clinical Laboratory Partners accepts payment from all health insurance companies and provides financial assistance to patients for services.

In addition, Nordyk said the company accepts referrals from any doctor.

Among the amenities of the new facility, Nordyk said there is a comfortable waiting room for patients and two examination rooms with both chairs and beds for convenience.

Nordyk added that there is also a private processing room for lab technicians to obtain personal information from patients.

Lab technicians can also use "stinger pads," to numb the pain and butterfly needles, which can also provide a less painful experience for some patients.

However, Nordyk said a doctor must prescribe the stinger pad on a referral in order to be used during the procedure.

"We try and make everyone comfortable and make it a good experience," she said.

Town officials and business community leaders attending the open house to welcome Clinical Laboratory Partners all agreed that the company's arrival on Monroe Turnpike is a real shot in the arm for the local economy.

Teri Rotella, president of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce said the company's health insurance policy should open up many opportunities for the business to succeed.

"This gives diversity to people with different types of health insurance," she said. "It is great when businesses like this open in town."

Economic Development Commission member Steve Schapiro said the company's second location in town is a good indicator the economy is going in the right direction.

"This opening says it's a growing community that needs a health facility that can suit everyone's needs," he said.

First Selectman Steve Vavrek, the master of ceremonies during the ribbon cutting Wednesday, said the company demonstrates the confidence that the business has in the town.

"This shows the faith that Clinical Laboratory Partners has in our community and we are thankful they are working with the town," he said.

Business hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

The company also has a laboratory located at 765 Main Street.
