Couple Arrested Trying to Fill Forged Prescription in Monroe
Monroe police were notified when they arrived at the pharmacy to pick up Xanax.
Two Connecticut residents were arrested Tuesday after trying to fill a forged prescription at a Monroe Walgreens.
Monroe police said Jerome Davis, 32, of New Haven, and Alexis Carlson, 26, of Milford, went to the pharmacy, located at 275 Route 111, to pick up a prescription of Xanax, which had been called in by a man who claimed to be a Milford physician.
The pharmacist had called the physician’s office to confirm the request but was told the prescription had not been ordered.

When the couple arrived at Walgreens, pharmacy staff notified police who tried to detain them for an interview.
While walking outside, Davis got away from the officer and ran into the woods behind the store.
Monroe’s K9 Unit, along with Trumbull Police’s K9 Unit, tracked the suspect to a swamp about a half mile from the store where the scent was lost.

Police were told by area business people that a person matching Davis’s description had been seen looking for rides at a local service station and was walking toward a McDonald’s on Route 111.
An officer, who recognized the suspect from surveillance footage, took Davis into custody as he sat at a table inside the fast-food restaurant.
Davis was charged with passing a forged prescription, conspiracy to pass forged prescription, criminal impersonation and interfering with an officer. He was held on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Aug. 12.
Carlson was charged with passing a forged prescription and conspiracy to pass forged prescription. She was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 19.
