• Monroe Hot Sauce Company Refuses Recall Amid Botulism Risk: State (patch.com) — A Monroe-based hot sauce maker has been ordered to stop production after Connecticut officials warned its products could pose a botulism risk, and the company refused to issue a recall. Residents who bought these sauces, especially from Beardsley's Cider Mill in Shelton, are urged not to consume them and to seek immediate medical care if they experience symptoms like weakness, double vision, or trouble breathing.
