Day for Responsible Dog Ownership Set for Sept. 26 in Monroe

A day celebrating the joy of dog ownership in the Town of Monroe will be set for Sept. 26 when the K-9 Karnival takes place.

First Selectman Stephen Vavrek will proclaim that date as “Responsible Dog Ownership Day” at a signing ceremony at 2 p.m. Sept. 1 in his office at Monroe Town Hall. Organizers said local dignitaries and their canine companions will be on hand to witness the proclamation signing.

The K-9 Karnival, which is put together by the Trap Falls Kennel Club, will be held at Fireman’s Field in Monroe.
