Marilyn Moore For State Senate
“Building bridges on behalf of all constituents”
October 21, 2014-Educators, gun safety advocates, government watchdog groups as well as municipal and state employee organizations have endorsed the candidacy of Marilyn Moore for Connecticut State Senate.
“As we enter the homestretch of the campaign knocking on doors, greeting voters and conducting rallies I am so proud of the cross section of organizations endorsing this team effort,” says Moore. “This campaign is about building bridges on behalf of all constituents. I pledge to be a ceaseless advocate on behalf of children, working families, parents and teachers to achieve the resources they deserve, champion safety and security on roads and in schools and serve as your voice in the legislature.”
Moore is the Democratic nominee for Connecticut’s 22nd State Senate District covering Trumbull and portions of Bridgeport and Monroe.
Moore’s affiliated endorsements include the Connecticut Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, Carpenters Union Local 210, Connecticut Working Families Party, AFL-CIO, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, CT Voters for Gun Safety, Communications Workers of America, Connecticut Citizen Action Group, United Food And Commercial Workers Local 371, United Auto Workers, Service Employees International Union – Connecticut State Council.
About Marilyn Moore
Marilyn Moore is a team-building leader who commits her time, energy and resources to seeing increased opportunities for all of us. She is the founder of the Witness Project of Connecticut, a breast cancer education and advocacy group. She is mother to three adult children and nine grandchildren. Marilyn attended Bridgeport public schools and the University of Bridgeport. As an executive from AT&T, Marilyn displayed strong leadership skills, vision and the ability to work between various workgroups to accomplish goals. These attributes have carried over into every aspect of her personal and professional life including the call to build an organization to reduce the incidence of breast cancer among low income women and to end hunger in Connecticut. Marilyn is nationally known for her advocacy on behalf of breast cancer and is an active participant in the war against hunger. She serves as board chair for End Hunger CT! and represents Connecticut on the Food Solutions New England Coalition. Marilyn recently organized coalitions to address food equity; as a result, the City of Bridgeport formed a Food Policy Council. She served two years as Legislative Aide to former Democratic State Senator Edwin A. Gomes, and is committed to creating jobs that can sustain our families.
