DNA Helps Monroe PD Catch Suspected Car Thief

The 20-year-old man was arrested by Monroe police for criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree larceny and theft of a credit card.

MONROE, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested by Monroe police after they used DNA to identify and arrest him, according to the CT Post.

Maurice Bacon, 20, of Bridgeport was arrested on Wednesday on charges of criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree larceny, theft of a firearm, identity theft and illegal use of a credit card, the report stated.

Monroe police said a 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup that was stolen from the driveway which included a handgun.
