Economic Outlook Worsens in Monroe

Jobs figures for June show Monroe with its highest unemployment rate all year, increasing from 6.5 percent in May to 6.9 in June, according to the Connecticut Department of Labor.

Monroe has 749 unemployed people, the June figures say.

Statewide, the unemployment rate is 8.1 percent. Nationally, that number is 8.2 percent.
