Ecuador Earthquake: Monroe Family Pleads for Help for Relatives Impacted
A Monroe resident is asking for help for his grandparents who were injured in Sunday's earthquake in Ecuador.

MONROE, CT — After a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Ecuador, a Monroe family is pleading for help for their relatives who were impacted.
Pedro Donoso, a Monroe resident and student at Southern Connecticut State University, created a GoFundMe page to raise $20,000 to help his grandparents, Gladys And Jaime Porras. The couple lost their home in Manta, as well as all of their belongings, in the quake. They also suffered injuries during the disaster.
"Aside from the injuries that occurred on the night of the earthquake, Gladys suffers from numerous health complications including diabetes and heart problems," Donoso wrote.
"Those of you who know Gladys And Jaime, know how much they give to society, asking for nothing in return. Now it is our turn to give back to them and help them when they need it the most. I am not asking for a large donation, anything you can chip in to help support Jaime and Gladys would be beneficial. Please share this link and keep Jaime And Gladys and the Country of Ecuador in your thoughts and prayers."
