Elvira Addona Legorano

Loving Mother and Grandmother

Mrs. Elvira (Orsini) Addona Legorano, 74, of 284 Hill Street, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Domenico Addona.

Elvira was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on November 13, 1937, daughter of the late Michele and Filomena (Rubbo) Orsini. She came to this country and settled in Waterbury in 1968. She was employed at Lakewood Metals until she retired and she was a communicant of St. Lucy’s Church. She will always be remembered for her amazing cooking for her family and for all who set foot in her kitchen. She enjoyed seeing her children and grandchildren together laughing and reminiscing.

She leaves four sons, Giuseppe Addona and his wife Lucia, Corrado Addona and his wife Janice, Luigi Legorano and his wife Carrie all of Waterbury, Mario Addona and his wife Rose of Monroe, two daughters, Giovanna DeJesus and Giuseppina Soto and her husband Rafael both of Waterbury, a brother, Libero Orsini and his wife Maria of Watertown, and ten grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Salvatore Orsini and Giuseppe Orsini.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful and caring staff at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center for their amazing care and support shown to the family and to Elvira during her illness as well as the staff at Connecticut Hospice.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to St. Lucy’s Church for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
