Monroe Organized Voters for Education (MOVE), in conjunction with The Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG), will be sponsoring a Minds in Motion event at Masuk High School on Saturday, December 3, 2011, from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. Minds in Motion presents exciting, hands-on, fast paced workshops for all children in grades K through 8. Workshops are being offered relate to science, the arts, and problem solving and include examples like “A Day at the Animal Hospital,” ”Archeological Dig,” “Krazy Kickboxing for Kids,” and “Mock Trial.”
Parents and teachers are invited to attend free sessions geared toward adults, including a keynote address by Professor Emeritus of and Senior Research Scientist in Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine Dr. Bruce Wexler, entitled Harnessing Neuroplasticity to Improve Education. Following the keynote, several adult discussions will take place including, “Thinking Outside the Classroom.” All adult workshops and the keynote address are completely free and open to the entire public.
