'Preventing Breast Cancer, Taking Control of Your Life'

The hosts Jeannine Capria, RN, who will present  "Preventing Breast Cancer and Taking Control of Your Life" 7-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4. Information will be made available by St. Vincent's Medical Center's SWIM Center for Cancer Care.

Participants will learn about the three levels of prevention to help take control of their life and win the war against breast cancer. The group will discuss primary prevention to help reduce risks; secondary prevention to detect cancer at its earliest and most treatable stage; and tertiary prevention to reduce the progression of the diagnosis and maintaining higher state of wellness.
 
Participants will also have an opportunity to receive information from Sandy Reyes, coordinator for St. Vincent's Women's Imaging Center.

In addition, St. Vincent's Mobile Mammography Unit scheduled for Oct. 16 in Monroe.
