The Monroe Women’s Club is proud to bring back the popular town-wide Take A Stand – Lemonade Day in Monroe. The event will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2012 with youth setting up lemonade stands and donating half of their profits to local charities. The charities participating are: The Center for Women & Families (dedicated to strengthening women and families and to eliminating violence and abuse through education, intervention, advocacy, and community collaboration serving Eastern Fairfield County); The Project Warmth Fund (dedicated to help Monroe residents bridge the gap in energy assistance programs) and The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign (serving Monroe and Trumbull with a welcoming place to learn new skills, connect with others and access support in times of need).
Please look for the “Take A Stand” lemonade signs around town and take the time to stop and visit one of these stands for a glass of lemonade. It is a great way to support the community service efforts of our youth. A few stand locations are: in front of St. Peter’s Church at 175 Old Tannery Rd. from 1 pm to 3 pm; and in front of residence at 94 Lynn Drive.
