Feeling grateful!
Our first full year bringing Positive Discipline to Western Connecticut!
And what an incredible year it has been!
We held 18 Parenting the Positive Discipline Way classes in Brookfield, Newtown, Danbury, New Milford, Monroe and Wilton! Wow!
We were honored to have Dr. Jane Nelsen, the founder of Positive Discipline, as the keynote speaker at the largest ever Parent University, sponsored by Newtown Parent Connection and Brookfield CARES. We continue to build relationships with our class participants, offering refresher classes and on-going tools and tips.
Some of us became Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educators, which enables us to speak a common language in school and out with “our” children. We trained school staff in Positive Discipline in three private schools. We also facilitated having support staff trained in Positive Discipline in the Classroom in two Brookfield public schools. We are working with the children and teachers in 1st grade and a 5th grade classes in a Danbury school, helping children with social-emotional skills and ways to build stronger relationships and so they can have a more peaceful classroom.

We continue to receive generous support from our community, with grants from Resiliency Center of Newtown, Sandy Hook Promise, Newtown Parent Connection, Union Savings Bank of Danbury, HVCASA, and the Brookfield Education Foundation.
We received pro bono services and facilities from ME Creative Associates, Resiliency Center of Newtown, Brookfield Library, Fraser Woods Montessori School, SBC International, and Pro Bono Partnership.

Our Board of Directors added two new members this year. Each volunteer Board member has made a financial donation to the organization, in addition to spending countless hours building our village. We also have a great group of Certified Parent Educators, many of whom volunteer their time. I am grateful for all of their hard work and energies.
From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate all of you who helped make this year so special! We look forward to helping more children, families and educators build stronger relationships in 2015.
Happy and Healthy New Year to all!
