Police said they were called to a doctor’s office in Monroe after they learned of an attempt to fill a fraudulent prescription from their office had been made at a Naugatuck pharmacy.
Police said that Isa Redzepi, of Naugatuck, allegedly stole blank prescriptions from a pad that was left in the exam room which he later wrote it out for Oxycodone and forged the physician’s signature. The pharmacist called the doctor to verify the prescription and was told not to fill it, police said.
An investigation revealed that Redzepi forged two other prescriptions from the Monroe physician and attempted to have them filled at other pharmacies.
On April 17, 2016, Waterbury Police arrested Redzepi on unrelated charges and he was subsequently turned over to Monroe Police where he was held on a $20,000 until arraignment on Monday, April 18, 2016.
