Man Found Asleep at Wheel in Possession of Heroin: Monroe Cops
Police found the man after receiving reports of an erratically driven vehicle.

A Trumbull man is facing charges after police say he was caught with four small folds of heroin after police received report of a vehicle being driver erratically in Monroe.
When officers arrived on July 23 around 2:40 p.m., they found John Carmolingo, 20, of Trumbull asleep behind the wheel, police said. His car was allegedly stopped diagonally across the road.

Officers had to reach into the car window and put the car in park, police said.
After waking up Carmolingo, officers detected signs that he was under the influence of narcotics.

He failed standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for operating under the influence, police said. According to police, a search of Carmolingo located four small “folds” of heroin hidden in a cigarette box he had inside of the front of his shorts.
He was charged for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of narcotics. He was given a $1,000 bond and a court date of July 31.
