Masuk Student's Essay Nets Her School a $5,000 Check

Ali Forger wants the money to be used to buy books

Masuk High School freshman, Ali Forger, penned a winning essay about starting a reading group with elementary students as a Jockey Hollow Middle School eighth-grader. It brought home a $5,000 check for her school.

Masuk Assistant Principal Mark Schwartz introduced Ali at the Board of Education meeting Monday night when the talented young writer was honored.

Schartz said Ali is a hard worker, who is organized, a wonderful person and a great role model.

Ali wants the money to be used to buy books for students. Ali's parents and sister attended the meeting to watch the school board recognize her accomplishment.
