MONROE, CT — The Judd Road Bridge is officially open following several months of construction, town officials announced. The bridge project was completed using a "high-quality manner" intended to allow the structure to be used for decades, First Selectman Terrence P. Rooney said in an announcement. The town thanked the state of Connecticut for providing financial support for the project and Nagy Brothers Construction for handling challenges that arose during construction. "A fantastic job was done by our Department of Public Works regarding the trimming and paving needs prior to its opening," Rooney said. Rooney also thanked the Town of Easton for helping Monroe reopen the bridge before the beginning of the school year. The project was completed slightly ahead of its anticipated schedule, according to the town.
