Monroe Could Become Home to a Medical Marijuana Dispensary

Currently there are six medical marijuana dispensaries in Connecticut and there is a proposal to increase that number to nine, the Hartford Courant reports.

The emphasis is on adding locations in both Fairfield and New Haven counties, and 16 applications have been received including one site in Monroe.

PalliaTech CT LLC located at 19 Morgan Lane in Monroe is seeking approval.

Currently, there are 5,337 registered patients and the state will make a decision early next year on where to add the new dispensaries.

In New Haven County there is only one location, and that is in Branford at 469 East Main Street.
