  • Since 1990, Maria Sanchez of Waterbury’s Sweet Maria’s Bakery, has been baking up Connecticut’s best cakes and cookies. She’ll share her secrets with us as we make sweets for our sweets.   • Annual Valentine’ Day Wine-Pairing Dinner with radio personality and founder of Class in a Glass/Take Home, Sommelier, Carol Berman and Chef Maggie Colangelo. A romantic voluptuous Valentine’s Day five-course dinner in The Silo Cooking School. Carol will teach you how to taste and pair her unique selection of wines. Maggie will prepare your meal before your very eyes - and may even call you up to participate in the prep.

  • French Macarons Go Green
  • With Chef Kathryn Gordon. Back by popular demand - Chef Kathryn Gordon will teach you how to make the traditional French macaron - and in honor of St. Patty’s day - they’ll have an Irish twist!. Practice making macaron batter, piping cookies and learn tricks to help you bake them in your own oven. Participants will make a variety of delicious fillings (think Baileys and Mint!) and learn how to assemble the macaron sandwiches. You’ll have a box to take home. Kathryn will also be available to sign her book, Le Petit Macaron purchased at The Silo Store.

April 14 marks the anniversary when “the large luxurious ship carrying many of the wealthiest people on the globe met its doom. “The story of the Titanic isn’t just about the mysterious circumstances of the sinking, or the tragedy and loss of life. Much of our fascination with Titanic is in the details. It’s a look back at how the Edwardian-era passengers lived, dressed and of course, how they ate.”
