Monroe Man Arrested After Fleeing Scene of Car Fire: Police

Police said the man left the scene of the fire prior to police arrival.

MONROE, CT — A 22-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning after he allegedly fled the scene of a car fire in Monroe Friday morning, according to Monroe Police.

Zachary Krajewski was arrested after police responded to a call that a car struck a bridge on Bagburn Hill Road and caught on fire on Friday. Police say that Krajewski had left the scene of the fire prior to officers arrival.

Police confirmed with Patch that Krajewski returned to the scene after speaking to officers over the phone.

Krajewski was charged with evading responsibility, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating without a license. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
