Monroe Man Improperly Used High Beams, Arrested for DUI

His blood alcohol level was .107. The legal limit is .08.

Police said a Monroe man faces a DUI charge and more for an incident that started with high-beam headlights.

An article in the Monroe Courier reported John Herrick III, 25, was arrested after traveling north on Old Newtown Road while not dimming his high-beam headlights for vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.

After Herrick was stopped, an officer said he smelled alcohol and the man allegedly failed a sobriety test, registering .107 blood-alcohol level.

He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license, failure to drive in the proper lane and improper use of high-beam headlights.
