Monroe Mourning Loss of Longtime Educator
Kathy Kuhl passed away unexpectedly early this morning.

Kathy Kuhl, a Monroe educator with more than 40 years experience in the district, passed away early this morning.
Superintendent of Schools Jim Agostine shared the news with teachers and students this morning. In what was a visible indication of the impact Kuhl had on the community, one Masuk student told Patch that many teachers were in tears when they heard of her passing.
Agostine also sent parents an email informing them of Kulh's passing. He wrote:

"Good Morning,
"I am saddened to inform you that Kathy Kuhl, Jockey Hollow 8th grade Rock Team Math teacher, passed away unexpectedly early this morning. Kathy served 42 years in our District at Chalk Hill and most recently at Jockey Hollow School. Mr. Ceccolini shared this difficult news with all staff and students this morning.

"Kathy’s devotion to our District was significant and she will long be remembered for her contributions to the Monroe Public Schools.
"This morning counselors, psychologists, and school administration from throughout the District, as well as all of the central office staff are available to your children at Jockey Hollow. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to write a message in memory of Mrs. Kuhl to be shared with her family."
"I am pleased to report that the entire Monroe School District has come out to support our staff and students at Jockey Hollow during this difficult time."
