Monroe Police Arrest Bridgeport Man for Cocaine Possession, More
The street value of the cocaine was $40,000.

A Bridgeport man was arrested by Monroe police on drug charges Oct. 6.
Police said Josue Gonzalez, 37, had arranged for a package allegedly containing narcotics to be mailed to a location in Monroe where he worked.
The U.S. Postal Investigations Service notified the Monroe police about the package and intercepted it. The package contained just over 2.2 pounds of cocaine, with a street value of $40,000, police said.

The package was resealed and delivered under controlled conditions to Gonzalez’s place of employment at 451 Route 45.
After he accepted delivery of the package, Gonzalez walked to his car and was arrested as he tried to back out of a parking space.

He was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school/day care facility.
Bond was set at $75,000. Gonzalez’s next court appearance is Thursday.
