Monroe Police Arrest Suspect in String of Burglaries
Monroe Police detectives submitted evidence to the Connecticut State Forensic Lab to catch the suspect.

Monroe Police have arrested a Bridgeport man in connection with a string of burglaries in the area.
According to Monroe Police, on Nov. 18, 2014 they responded to a house burglary on Far Horizon Drive. The homeowner came home to find the rear door had glass broken out. The upstairs bedrooms had signs of a burglary and the homeowner found that thousands of dollars worth of jewelry were stolen. The Monroe Police detectives processed the scene for evidence and submitted it to the Connecticut State Forensic Lab. This evidence led to police charging Severo Santiago, 45, of Bridgeport, as a suspect.
The police investigation led to an arrest warrant for Santiago charging him with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Larceny in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree. He was taken into custody on Jan. 8, 2015 and held on $100,000.00 bond.

Santiago is also a suspect in other burglaries throughout the Bridgeport area. He was transported for arraignment on Jan. 9, 2015.
