Monroe Police: Boy, 11, Accidentally Shot in the Cheek
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Monroe police say an 11-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the cheek Sunday afternoon when the homeowner was in the process of securing his handgun, reports WFSB 3 TV.
The incident occurred on Partridge Drive and police say the handgun went off accidentally and a bullet passed through a wall, and hit the boy, WFSB 3 reports.
The boy was taken to a local hospital and the incident is under investigation.

An ambulance transported the boy to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, NBC Connecticut reports.
It’s unclear right now what the relationship is between the boy and the man whose gun accidentally went off.
