Monroe State Aid Takes Major Hit Under Malloy's New Plan
Monroe would receive close to $1 million less under the governor's new proposed state aid plan that has been approved previously.

MONROE, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.
Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.
Monroe would receive 14 percent - or $974,090 less under Malloy's plan. Previously it was slated to get $6.8 million; now, $5.8 million.
