Monroe To Swear-In New Police Chief Feb. 25

MONROE, CT — Monroe Police Captain Keith White will be sworn-in as the department's new police chief during a ceremony at the municipal building at 4 p.m. on Feb. 25, First Selectman Ken Kellogg and Board of Police Commissioners Chairman Michael Vitello announced. The event is open to the public.

White will become the town's fifth police chief, and is taking over the reins from former Chief John Salvatore, who recently retired after serving as chief for 23 years.

A 27-year veteran of the Monroe Police Department, White was selected for the position by the Commission, following a unanimous recommendation of a personnel search committee.

The committee included members of the Commission, Kellogg, Human Resources Director Craig Hirsch, and Monroe resident and Stamford Chief of Police Timothy Shaw.
