Monroe Town Council Approves Six Applications for NAA Program
The program provides a corporation business tax credit for businesses who make cash contributions to these non-profit/municipal entities.

MONROE, CT -- The Monroe Town Council unanimously approved six of the seven applications for the 2018 Neighborhood Assistance Act Program (NAA).
Given the green light were the Monroe Playground Foundation, Monroe Food Pantry, Project Warmth, The Conservation and Water Resource’s Commission’s Pollinator Garden, Sensory Storytime at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library and Emergency Medical Services’ Stop the Bleed program.
The NAA Tax Credit Program is designed to provide funding for municipal and tax exempt organizations by providing a corporation business tax credit for businesses who make cash contributions to these entities.

Businesses can receive a credit of 60 percent of their approved contribution to certain programs (or 100 percent in the case of certain energy conservation programs) approved by the state Department of Revenue Services.
The Town Council must now pass on the applications to the state for final approval.
