Monroe Woman Arrested for DUI in Trumbull

Police went to see why a vehicle had parked inside a florist's parking lot around 1 a.m.

Trumbull Police arrested a woman who was allegedly driving under the influence.

Officers were on patrol July 16 in the area of Route 108 near City Line Florist around 12:40 a.m.

The officers noticed a car pulled into a spot at the parking lot and went to investigate since the business was closed.

A woman identified as Amy Bowerman, 34, of Monroe allegedly told police she was going to call a friend so she could safely get home. She admitted to having a drink, police said.

Officers also noticed a half empty 30 rack of beer in her vehicle, according to police.

She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer at headquarters.

She was charged with DUI and was released after posting a $500 bond.
