Patch Picks: Where to Find Some Irish Fare on St. Patrick's Day
Several restaurants in town are commemorating St. Patrick's Day by serving hearty platter of corned beef and cabbage. Here is a list of five places in Monroe to celebrate this special holiday with some yummy Irish-inspired meals.
- Roberto’s Restaurant– 505 Main Street – 268-5723 – A special holiday menu includes Corned Beef and Cabbage with Dijon mustard and spiced baked potato; Fettucine with pesto cream and bay scallops; Celtic Breast of Chicken; Potato and Leek Soup, and warm apple and smoked bacon salad. Dinner begins at 4 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
- Vazzy’s Osteria – 415 Main Street – 459-9800- Tasty corned beef sandwiches will be offered at lunch and a corned beef and cabbage meal at dinner.
- Carl Anthony’s Trattoria – 475 Main Street – 268-8486- Everyone is Irish on this special day in honor of St. Patrick and corned beef will be served at dinner along with all of the restaurant’s specialty Italian cuisine.
- McGowan’s Pizzaland – 401 Monroe Turnpike – 261-3671 – Corned beef and cabbage will served, along with their regular menu items, for lunch and dinner.
- McDonald’s – 390 Monroe Turnpike – 459-2689 - Shamrock shakes- Served with whipped cream on top.
