Police: Man Tried to Shoplift Nearly $150 of Red Bull, Potato Chips in Monroe
The man was stopped by Stop and Shop employees outside the store.
A Shelton man was arrested on Sunday after police say he attempted to steal from a Stop and Shop in Monroe.
According to police, Dennis Marques, 23 was inside a Stop and Shop where he filled a cart with 18 four packs of Red Bull and a bag of potato chips.
He then fled the store without paying for the items, police said. He was stopped outside by Stop and Shop employees.

Marques was charged with sixth-degree larceny.
He was given a $500 bond and a court date of May 13.
