Roberto's of Monroe hosts Make-A-Wish Volunteer Dinner
100 Volunteers Gather in Celebration of Wishes Come True
100 Make-A-Wish® Connecticut volunteers gathered on Wednesday evening for a dinner at Roberto’s Restaurant & Banquet Facilities in Monroe, in recognition of their time, talents, and dedication to the organization and its mission to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The evening’s program was filled with Wish Families sharing their journey, compelling thank you speeches given by Board Chair Keith Herzig and President & CEO Pam Keough, and countless stories and experiences shared among guests. The dinner was generously donated by Roberto’s.
“Roberto’s Restaurant & Banquet Hall has always been a family place” shared Roberto Giansante, owner of Roberto’s. “I could not think of a better way to give back to the community since Make-A-Wish has always helped children in need. That to me is the definition of family.”
“We are honored to have friends like Roberto and the entire Roberto’s team,” commented Kim Smith, Development Director for Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “Time and time again they have stood by our side in support of our wish families and our volunteers. It is important to recognize the efforts of our volunteers who help us make over 200 wishes come true each year, and to be able to do so while still directing our funds to wishes, thanks to this generous contribution made by Roberto’s, is a perfect example of the power of a wish.”
