The Secret Language of Birds with Milan Bull

Students 3rd grade and up (and adults too) are invited to Webb Mountain Discovery Zone Saturday June 7th from 8:30am-10am, for a unique opportunity to spend 90 minutes with the top state expert on all things birds - Milan Bull of the Connecticut Audubon.  Mr. Bull is the top ornithologist in the state of CT, has appeared on television and national radio and has led numerous adventure trips to the Galopogos Islands in search of exotic birds of all kinds.

Ever whistle at a bird and the bird whistles back?  "Chirp! Tweet! Hoot! Caw-caw!" Ever wonder what you said?  Mr. Bull will lead a walk through the park listening for, and speaking with, the many bird species that live in and around the Discovery Zone.  Kids will learn to tell the difference between different types of birds by their calls and how to properly sound a bird call to "talk with" birds and get them to answer you back!

The program is $8 for one participant and $7 for each additional participant.  For more information or to register, visit www.webbmountaindiscoveryzone.com and click on “events”, or email any questions to info@webbdiscoveryzone.org

Webb Mountain Discovery Zone is located at 71 Webb Circle in Monroe. It opened in 2007 to promote outdoor exploration and learning, in a fun, hands-on environment.  The Discovery Zone has easy to walk trails of over four miles on 171 acres with twenty eight learning stations and a self-directed scavenger hunt that was created by Hank Gruner, Vice President of Programs for the Connecticut Science Center in Harford with the assistance of Connecticut State Archeologist Nick Bellantoni.  Please note the Discovery Zone entrance is separate from Webb Mountain Park.
