Third Budget Referendum to be Held in Monroe

Voters have already rejected two proposed budgets.

The third revised budget will go out to voters in Monroe on May 12.

According to the CT Post, the third proposed budget is $85,000 lower on the municipal side and $40,000 lower on the education side. The second proposed budget rejected by voters stood at $84.1 million.

This will be the third budget referendum held this year.

According to the Town of Monroe Facebook page, each referendum costs taxpayers approximately $8,000.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 12.
