Two Youths Robbed at Gunpoint in Monroe: Police

The victims were approached from behind when they were walking home from a friend's home.

Two youths in Monroe were reportedly robbed at gunpoint on Sweet Briar Lane, according to police.

A resident walking his dog in the area of Abby Lane and Sweet Briar Lane came across the youths who reported they had been robbed at gunpoint just before 8 p.m. on Jan. 14, police said.

The victims described the suspects as black males, wearing dark clothing and hoodies covering their heads, police said. One male was around five-feet-three inches tall with an average build and the other male was approximately six-feet tall also with an average build.

According to police, the victims were walking home from a friend’s house when they were approached by the suspects from behind.

One of the suspects displayed a handgun, police said. The youths were ordered to the ground and told to empty their pockets and hand over their backpacks.

The suspects were seen leaving the area in a small dark sedan.
