WEATHER ALERT: More Snow Forecast for Monroe on Thursday

Local meteorologists predict how much more snow we may be shoveling by Friday morning.

Not again!

There is another chance for accumulating snow in the near future as a winter storm could dump up to six inches of snow on Connecticut on Thursday, but the confidence in that prediction currently is low, according to local meteorologists.

Here’s what we currently know about the latest snow threat.

WFSB 3 TV Meteorologist Scott Haney says the state could see between 2-4 or possibly 3-6 inches of new snow accumulation by early Friday morning. The snow could begin after noon on Thursday.

“(Weather) models don’t agree, so confidence is low regarding this part of the forecast,” Haney wrote for WFSB 3.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Brad Field says the exact track of the storm will be the key in determining whether we get a few inches or a few snow flurries from this latest snow threat.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons is currently predicting a “round of accumulating snow likely” on Thursday.

And after the latest snow chance, it’s going to get cold, really cold, as in temperatures may be -5 to -13 below by Sunday night.

Just a reminder, 38 days from now until spring.

And here is what the National Weather Service is predicting for Monroe in their latest hyperlocal forecast for Thursday’s snow chance.

  • Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 32. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. North wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 14. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. North wind around 9 mph.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 23. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. Northeast wind around 8 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: A slight chance of snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Thursday: Snow. High near 26. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Thursday Night: Snow likely, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 8. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 15. Blustery.
  • Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 0.
  • Saturday: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near 17. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Saturday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 3. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Sunday: A chance of snow. Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 13. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -5. Blustery.
  • Washington’s Birthday: Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 19.
