
Sprigs & Twigs, Inc., a leading landscape design, lawn care and tree service provider in southeastern Connecticut, today announced that three of its staff has become Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals (AOLCP) through the Northeast Organic Farming Association’s (NOFA) accreditation program. A total of seven Sprigs & Twigs employees have completed NOFAs comprehensive five-day, 30-hour course and a rigorous exam based on NOFA standards for organic land care. The course covers all aspects of organic land care from soil health, site analysis and planting/plant care to composting and lawn alternatives.
“Public awareness about the hazards of pesticide use is growing,” said Bill Lillie, AOLCP, chief executive officer, Sprigs & Twigs. “Not only is Sprigs & Twigs committed to its employees’ professional growth but to our customers who seek trained professionals for help in managing their land organically, benefitting families, pets and the environment.”

New Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals
The following Sprigs & Twigs staff will apply NOFA standards for organic land care by adapting the principles and methods of organic farming to the care of landscapes:

- Mary Grace Haggett, AOLCP: Mary Grace is a landscape team leader who oversees Sprigs & Twigs’ garden maintenance projects. She has more than five years of horticulture experience and earned a BS degree in horticulture and landscape design from the University of Connecticut.
- Kristyn Chassie, AOLCP: Kristyn is a landscape supervisor who manages operations within the Landscape Division. She has more than 10 years of landscaping experience and is enrolled in Ashford University’s environmental science degree program.
- Kyle Wheeler, AOLCP: Kyle is a landscape team leader responsible for tool and material inventory and directs hardscape and drainage projects. He has more than five years of horticulture experience and earned a BS degree in horticulture from Delaware Valley College.
