Oakdale Fire Department Celebrates 50 Years of Service

This year, the  marks 50 years of providing emergency services to the Town of Montville.

Our "House on the Hill" has seen significant changes over the years since its incorporation to meet the needs of our citizens as well as providing protection to our firefighters, emergency medical responders and fire police.

Throughout this year, we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary and are excited to share our events with the community. One such event we are planning is an "Open House" that will include a display of equipment that we use (both then and now), live demonstrations using the equipment, interactive demonstrations where our citizens will be able to use some of our equipment as well as crawl through a smoke house simulator. I

n addition to these events, our new fire engine will also be on display for the public to view and to show them the latest features in providing protection to them.

In addition, I will be updating my blog with various articles depicting the history of the Oakdale Fire Department using stories and pictures captured throughout the 50 years.The Oakdale Fire Department is proud to have been a part of this community for the last 50 years and we are looking forward to continue our services to you in the future.
