Bus Driver Was Awake and Sober, Attorney Says

Fifteen People Died When the Bus, Returning from Mohegan Sun, Crashed on I-95

The Associated Press is reporting this morning that an attorney for the driver of the bus that crashed on March 12, killing 15, says that driver was "sober, rested and fully awake" when the accident happened.

The bus was on its way from Mohegan Sun Casino to New York City.

The driver, Ophadell Williams, said a tractor-trailer veered toward the bus, and Williams swerved to avoid it, and lost control.

According to the Associated Press, a 74-year-old woman who survived the tour bus crash claims the driver was speeding and fell asleep.

None of the people who was killed worked at the casino.
