Campaign Notebook: Murphy Finds Hopeful Manufacturers in CT

Joseph Courtney (D) Courtney today visited Core-Plus Federal Credit Union in Norwich to meet with three credit union workers who were hired after a June 13 career fair Courtney sponsored in Norwich.

Senate

Chris Murphy (D) was joined by U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal in Hartford to release the findings of a manufacturers’ survey. In total, 191 manufacturers in Connecticut responded. The survey showed 77 percent were confident in the future.

"This report gives us the data we need to make the case for Connecticut manufacturing to policy-makers in Washington and across the country,” Murphy said. “We will use this information to push for policies that will create jobs in Connecticut and fight against policies that will ship Connecticut manufacturing jobs overseas.”

The Linda McMahon (R) campaign criticized the press conference and told Murphy to “stop the campaign stunts and produce a jobs plan.”
