Construction Worker Killed When Working On Route 9

Dale Perzan of 111 Whispering Brook, Kensington, CT was killed Wednesday night when he was working behind a truck doing construction work on Route 9 Sout, about five tenths of a mile north of Exit 1 in Old Saybrook, state police say.

The truck was owned by Center Trucking Co., Inc. of Wethersfield, CT, the police report says.

The report says the truck was engaged in construction work, and Perzan was engaged in work behind the truck around 9:15 p.m. between Exits 1 and 2 on Route 9. Perzan "sustained a fatal injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene," the report says. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation, police say.
