Dec. 17

At 12:49 a.m., police arrested Nina Smith, 27, of 490 West Main St., Norwich, and charged her with criminal mischief in the third degree, and disorderly conduct/ fighting/capable of causing minor injury. She was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the latter charge, and given a Dec. 19 court date. The arrest came after a physical confrontation between the accused and her boyfriend while driving on Interstate 395 in Montville. According to the report, “the accused damaged the victim’s vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.”

 Dec. 20

At 2:01 a.m., Matthew Amaral, 34, of 11 Lorri Ann Drive, Oakdale, was stopped on Route 12 in Lisbon. He was charged with traveling unreasonably fast for conditions, driving while under the influence of drugs and /or alcohol, and carrying a firearm while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was released on a $500 nonsurety bond and given a Dec. 29 court date.

Dec. 23

At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a report of someone passed out in a vehicle on Route 32. They arrested John Kane, 24, of 18 Taos Drive, Danielson, and charged him with possession of narcotics, storage in the wrong container, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond and given a Jan. 12 court date.

Dec. 24

At 2:05 p.m., police arrested Jane C. Moran, 57, of 6 Michaels Way, Oakdale, and charged her with disorderly conduct: fighting, capable of causing minor injuries. She was assessed a $500 bond and given a Dec. 27 court date. The arrest came at the accused’s home. 

Dec. 29

At 8:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Route 163 in Montville. They arrested Rebecca Houle, 29, of Route 163, and charged her with disorderly conduct. She was assessed a $1,500 surety bond and given a Dec. 29 court date.
