State, Montville Police Report Arrests

April 1

At 5:30 p.m., Montville Police, assisted by Connecticut State Police, arrested Anthony Joseph Adams, 21, of 5 Gair Court, Uncasville, and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and possession our of container. The arrest came at his home. The report says that police executed a search and seizure warrant, and found suspected marijuana, paraphernalia and prescriptions not in their original containers. He was assessed a $2,500 bond on the paraphernalia charge and given an April 14 court date.

At 9:57 pm., Montville Police arrested Earl B. McCrobie, 52, of 9 Scotch Cap Road, Quaker Hill, and charged him with failure to drive right and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the latter charge and given a court date of April 18. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on Jerome Ave.

At 5:34 p.m., Montville Police arrested Kevin McCarron, 44, of 11007 Starwood Drive, Jacksonville, FL, and charged him with improper parking and driving a motor vehicle when the registration is refused or suspended. He was stopped for a motor vehicle issue, the report says, on Route 32. McCarron was assessed a $500 surety bond on the registration charge, and given an April 18 court date.

At 3:32 p.m., police arrested Robert B. Kobelski, 53, of 481 Chesterfield Road, Oakdale, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The arrest was made at 25 Chapel Hill Road, after a motor vehicle stop. He was assessed a $500 bond and given an April 19 court date.

At an unspecified time, police responded to the Chesterfield Road in Montville, for a single-car accident. Julie L. Davis, 52, of 55 Cottonwood Lane, Uncasville, hit a tree. She was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital with a knee injury. A passenger in her car was also taken to L&M, with a shoulder injury. The car was towed.

At 2:45 p.m., police arrested Alexa Cox, 26, of 5 Hamast Ave., Waterford, on three active warrants. She was visiting an inmate at Corrigan Correctional Facility, the report says, and a records check revealed the active warrants. She was taken into custody and transported to Troop E, where she was released on a $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in court on April 14.

April 4

At 12:34 p.m., Thomas Palladino turned himself in for failure to appear in the second degree on charges of driving a motor vehicle while under suspension. Palladino lives at 46 Redwing St., Providence, RI. He was assessed a cash bond of $1,000 and given an April 21 court date.

At 9:30 a.m., police arrested Rodney Williamson, 42, an inmate at the Radgowski Correctional Center, after a physical altercation with another inmate who sustained injury, the report says, because of the assault. Williamson was charged and processed, assessed a $10,000 bond, and released back into the custody of the Department of Correction, with a court date scheduled for April 21.

At 10:30 a.m., at Corrigan Correctional Center, Earl Wayne Kurtz, 51, was presented at court in Norwich on charges in Massachusetts. He was served with a court-granted warrant for his arrest as a fugitive from justice. He was assessed a $100,000 bond, remanded back to Department of Correction custody and held on bond pending extradition.

At 2:22 a.m., Montville Police arrested Daniel L. Clarke, 31, of 17 Summit Ave., East Lyme, and charged him with failure to drive right, driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, driving a motor vehicle when registration or license is refused or suspended. He was assessed a $1,000 nonsurety bond on the DUI charge, and given a court date of April 19. The arrest came on Raymond Hill Road after a motor vehicle stop.

April 5

At 3:28 p.m., police arrested Joseph Turner, no age given, of 1 Saltbox Circle, Montville, and charged him with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree. He was assessed cash bonds of $500 and $1,500 and given an April 6 court date.

At 9:58 a.m., Raja Babar Abbas, 23, of 986 Norwich New London Turnpike, New London, was arrested as a fugitive from justice. An inmate just released from the Corrigan Correctional Center, Abbas was wanted by the City of New York on criminal charges. The arrest came at court in New London. He was processed, arraigned and held on bond without incident, the report says.

At 1:22 p.m., Montville Police arrested Allen W. Choate, 42, of 371 Fitch Hill Road, Uncasville, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and failure to drive right. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the DUI charge, and given an April 19 court date. The report says that he was seen driving erratically on Oakdale Road, and failed a field sobriety test.
