Montville, State Police Make Arrests

April 6

At 10:38 p.m., Connecticut State Police arrested Kenneth P. Fissette, 49, of 48 Toper Road, Plainfield, and charged him with disobeying the signal of an officer, failure to drive right, traveling unreasonably fast and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $1,500 bond on the latter charge, and given an April 19 court date. The arrest came on Route 32 at Broadview Road.

The report says Fissette was stopped for allegedly traveling too fast and failure to drive right. When the officer left his own car, the report says, Fissette took off, and failed to stop though the officer was using lights and sirens. The report says that “the accused evidently stopped at the intersection of Route 32 and Broadview Avenue, a short distance ahead of the original stop.”

At an unspecified time, police responded to 75 Leitao Drive, for a report of a vehicle vs. house accident. A Ford F-150 driven by Ivan Mendez, 32, of 78 Leitao Drive, Oakdale, backed across the street and into the home of Charles Lathrop. There was moderate damage to the house, and to the passenger side of the Ford. No injuries were reported. Mendez was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

At 6:14 a.m., police arrested Bobbie E. Beyers, 22, of 41 Stesson Road, Griswold, on an outstanding warrant charging burglary in the first degree, home invasion/armed robbery, interfering with an officer, third-degree larceny, first degree robbery and two counts of conspiracy. A $100,000 bond was assessed on the final charge.

April 9

At 9:15 p.m., Montville Poice arrested Paul S. McQuown, 18, of the Old Colchester Road, Oakdale, and charged him with possession of alcohol by a minor and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana. He was given a $500 non surety bond and a court date of April 28. The arrest came at Route 163 and Oxoboxo Dam Road.

April 10

At 3:11 a.m., police arrested Micah G. James, 30, of 1706 Shaffer Road, Lynchburg, VA, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The arrest came after a traffic stop on Interstate 395 at Exit 79A.

April 11

At 5:22 p.m., Montville Police arrested a minor and charged him or her with breach of peace. The arrest came after a verbal argument on Route 32. The minor fled the scene, according to the report, and was subsequently located by a K-9 track. A $1,000 nonsurety bond was assessed, and a court date set for April 20.

At 7:15 a.m., Montville Police responded to Route 32 at Route 163 for a reported motorcycle/auto accident. A 2007 Kia, driven by Joanne M. Nelson, 25, of 25 Lathrop Road, Montville, was struck from behind by a black motorcycle, the report says. The rider was wearing a black leather jacket and helmet, and continued northbound on Route 32 after hitting the Kia. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Officer Bedard at the Montville Police Department, 860-848-7510.

At 12:59 p.m., police arrested Robert J. Porter, 39, of 267 Route 163, Montville, and charged him with violation of a protective order. He was assessed a $2,500 cash bond, and given an April 11 court date.
