Update: Three Children Injured in Rt. 32 Head-On Collision Thursday Night; State Police Investigating
Reports indicate a vehicle is overturned at Rt. 32 and Woodland Drive

Update Friday Jan. 10 at 10 a.m.:
According to state police reports, a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Sebastian Flores of Oakdale was traveling southbound at 7:40 p.m., on Rt. 32 and a second vehicle, driven by Salem resident Nicole E Savalle, collided just north of Fort Hill Road, totaling both vehicles.
Flores and his four passengers (wife and three children) were transported to Backus Hospital; the eight-year-old was airlifted to Hartford Hospital for life threatening injuries; the five-year-old also was transported to Hartford Hospital for non-life threatening injures and the 10-year-old was treated and released from Backus.

The accident remains under investigation by Troop E.
Numerous fire, rescue and ambulance companies responded to the crash including Montville, Mohegan, and East Great Plain.

After being closed for several hours, Rt. 32 was re-opened at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Rt. 32 is closed in both directions at Fort Hill Road. Seek alternate routes, folks.
Update at 8:35 p.m.:
A total of five people were transported following a crash on Rt. 32 near St. Bernard's School. Two people had to be extricated from a vehicle. Heavy rescue equipment was brought in from East Great Plains Fire Department.
Update at 8:10 p.m.:
At least five ambulances are on the scene of a serious accident near St. Bernard's School on Rt. 32, officials report.

Patch has received a report of a 7:45 p.m. accident with an overturned auto on Route 32 at Woodland Drive in Montville.
Rescue equipment, ambulances and a medic have been called to the scene.
